About Hwange
Hwange is a town in Matabeleland North Province.
Hwange Thermal Power Station is the biggest thermal power plant in Zimbabwe.
It is in Hwange you find the largest game reserve in Zimbabwe, called the Hwange National Park.
This park is governed by the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks).
This is where you find the Flora and the Fauna.
The national park is home to a vast number of elephant, lion, giraffe and other wild animals.
Within the National Park you find some camps where you can reserve your accommodation.
They are platforms built throughout the park; and it is on these platforms you can have a better view of more animals, as they are built near the water reserves were the animals come and drink.
If you have your own vehicle you pay a fee to do the game drive. If not they are touring companies that offer the facilities.
I remember the recent time I went there with friends, we had a marvelous time; we had four nights in Vic falls and three nights in Hwange National Park and we had reserved our accommodation with ZimParks; which was so easy cause we had paid for our accommodation well in advance at the Harare Office.
They have beautiful Self-catering safari lodges at Hwange National Park, with a Braai area if you love barbeque. You can either carry your meat with you, or you can by at the butchery there.
We had our own car, so, we did our game drive; I remembered being in the wild, we went as far as Sinamatella.
Well little did I know that animals have water drinking time. It is so interesting and you find animals coming to drink at the right time…this is amazing and worthy experiencing. Different animals different time and they also give each other time depending on who dominates.
